As a well-established company in Montgomeryville, PA, Numonics had been manufacturing and marketing precision measurement devices for the medical, imaging, construction, garment and GIS markets for over 40 years. In 1994 the company realized a new market potential for improved communications and collaboration products and began to transform its patented technology to develop the world’s first pen-centric interactive whiteboard. It established the Interactive Products Division dedicated to developing innovative presentation products to improve collaboration in small and large groups particularly for classrooms. The world’s first pen-centric interactive whiteboard was based on fast, accurate and durable electromagnetic technology patented by the company several years earlier... This was the beginning of the next generation whiteboard.
Seventeen years later, Numonics stands at the forefront of the interactive whiteboard revolution. Its pioneering, pen-centric technology is powering the latest innovative product introduced in 2006 – The Intelliboard®. In addition, Easyboard®, CleverBoard™, the Digital Presentation Appliance™ (DPA) and the original Interactive Presentation Manager™ (IPM) have been installed in thousands of classrooms across the country and around the world. Developments in Bluetooth and RF wireless technology gave birth to a series of portable presentation devices like the Mobilepresenter® BT and the Intellislate® which gives presenters the freedom to navigate a computer from anywhere in the room. Additionally, LCD tablet monitor products were developed to improve presentations given at a podium to large audiences by allowing the presenter to both control presentations and annotate using an electronic pen while facing the audience. The current Intellimonitor® is the third generation product.
